Crane’s Pom-Pon Team
Pom Pon is a dance squad organized at Crane High School. The squad is required to have at least ten dances. Participants are required to maintain a perfect attendance, and respectable grades. The Pom Pon team has a captain who mainly makes up the dances and give out directions, while the co-captain just a back up person when the captain is not available. The co-captain also makes up dances along with the dancers if their willing.
On the Pom Pon team they perform mixtures of dances such as, hip hop, choreography, little bit of foot working which is a movement of the work with your feet, and praise dancing which is a physical movement of the body acting out a song with dance instead of singing. The songs that goes along with the dances are set up as mix tapes. Where they don’t play the whole song on each CD, but they mix it up by sections or verses.
After creating various of dances, the Pom Pon squad performs. They perform in different areas such as a basketball or football game. The Pom Pon squad even performs sometimes at assemblies, like if we have a pep rally or a dance off. In order to be on the Pom Pon squad, you have to have commitment, time, and patience. You have to put in as much effort as possible.
