Track & Field

Every year in the spring, Crane High School gets together to create a track team. In order to get on the team, what you have to do is show up and participate. You don’t have to be a great runner, or even have to be a certain size. As long as your willing to exercise, run, and learn new things your able to be on the team. The coach for the track team is, Coach Cooper. He allows everyone to be involved on the track field. Every runner gets separated by speed, distance, and time. Like for example: If you don’t have much skill in running and need assistance, a more experienced runner would be partnered to help you. If you run top speed and can get far in a short amount of time, you would be able to run cross country. You would have the opportunity to race against different countries and schools.

One way that Coach Cooper helps you stay in shape is by telling you to eat healthy. He also mentions foods that are good for you and those which are not so healthy. Another way Coach Cooper helps out is by sending us down into the weight room. In there, he helps us work on our muscles to build strength in the legs and arms. We do exercises like push-ups, Jumps jacks , and running in place. Your allowed to do whatever you feel comfortable in doing. Track is a great way to allow you to stay in shape, while allowing you to have fun.
